Have you always wanted to learn how to quilt but weren't quite sure where to begin? Well, this is the class for you!
Join Cody for a fun, fast-paced, two-day accelerated Beginning Quilting class where we'll take you through the entire quilt-making process, from your very first cut to that final stitch in the binding!
That's right! In just two classes, we'll cover the essentials of making a quilt, including piecing, quilting, and binding. You'll create a small table topper or wall hanging while learning the techniques and skills that will help you tackle bigger quilting projects in the future.
What You'll Learn
-
Rotary Cutting Basics: How to properly and accurately cut your fabrics
-
Pressing Techniques: Why pressing matters and how it affects your finished quilt
-
Accurate Piecing: Sewing consistent seams and getting those beautiful, perfect points
-
Quilt Assembly: Putting your blocks together and preparing your quilt for quilting
-
Machine Quilting: Learning the basics of quilting your layers together
-
Binding: Finishing your quilt with a neat, professional-looking binding
It's About the Journey, Not Just the Quilt!
This is an accelerated class, and we'll be covering a lot of information in a short amount of time! Our goal isn't simply to rush through a project to get a finished quilt. It's to teach you the proper techniques, good habits, and foundational skills that will make you a more confident and successful quilter.
We'll be making a small table topper or wall hanging so you can experience every step of the quilting process without being overwhelmed by a large project.
Remember, the skills you learn are far more valuable than the quilt you take home!
